You’re Not Alone! K&H will help with your home’s damage claim

K&H Home Solutions deals directly with your insurance company to make the process easier.We understand!  Devastating storm damage to your property, overwhelming experiences.    Where do you begin to get things fixed?  How do you deal with the insurance company?

K&H, a local, family owned company that’s been building trust and creating excellence since 1956, will work with you to make the process as easy as possible. We will walk you through the entire claims procedure and make sure your insurance does all that it’s supposed to do so you can enjoy your home the way it was before the storm. Here’s what to expect:

Step 1:  Report the Claim.  Call your insurance company’s claims department. Explain your issue and ask to have an adjuster come out. They will usually contact you within 72 hours. The insurance company’s phone number is on your policy. If you don’t have the policy it’s ok.  Just ask our Project Specialist for assistance. We have the phone numbers for nearly all the insurance companies.

K&H Home Solutions makes the insurance claim process easy for you.

Step 2:  Once you’ve reported the claim, call your K&H Project Specialist and give them the claim number.  At this point we will work directly with your insurance company to make sure you get the correct benefits and code upgrades to properly repair your home.

Step 3:  The insurance adjuster will set a time and date for a damage inspection. Contact your K&H Project Specialist with the appointment information so they can attend the inspection. Our expertise will be valuable when the adjuster assesses the storm damage.

Step 4:  After the inspection the insurance adjuster will provide information regarding your claim. Your K&H Project Specialist will work with you in greater detail to determine work time frames, material and color choices for the roof, optional upgrades and any other storm damage covered by your claim.

Step 5:    Once you’ve selected materials we will schedule an installation date. Depending on the volume of storm insurance claims the installation usually takes place in 1 to 2 weeks. At this time you’ll receive the first of two checks from your insurance company (about 7 to 10 days after the inspection). If the check is payable to you and your mortgage company we can assist you in getting your lender’s endorsement. As soon as the endorsed check comes back to you let the Project Specialist know so we can pick it up.

Step 6:  Your building permit will be posted the day before we begin installation of your roof.  Our installers will work carefully to remove the old roof and install the new roof and clean everything at the completion of the installation. Your K&H Project Specialist will do a “walk around” inspection and make sure all left over materials are removed. Your local building inspector will do the final inspection within a few days of the completed roof installation.

Step 7:  K&H Home Solutions will send the final invoice to you and the insurance company. Typically the final insurance check will arrive within 7 to 10 days after receipt of the final invoice. Please call your K&H Project Specialist as soon as you get the insurance check. We’ll make arrangements to pick up the insurance check and your check for the amount of the deductible. We’ll mark your invoice Paid in Full.
