You’re Not Alone! K&H will help with your home’s damage claim

We understand! Devastating storm damage to your property and overwhelming experiences? Where do you begin to get things fixed? How do you deal with the insurance company?

K&H, a local, family-owned company that’s been building trust and creating excellence since 1956, will work with you to make the process as easy as possible. We will walk you through the entire claims procedure and make sure your insurance does all that it’s supposed to do so you can enjoy your home the way it was before the storm. Here’s what to expect:

Step 1:  Report the Claim.  Call your insurance company’s claims department. Explain your issue and ask to have an adjuster come out to inspect your home. The adjuster will usually contact you within 72 hours after your claim. The insurance company’s phone number is on your policy. If you don’t have the policy, it’s ok. We have the phone numbers for nearly all the insurance companies.

Step 2:  Once you’ve reported the claim, the insurance adjuster will set a time and date for a damage inspection. The inspection will about 20 minutes to an hour depending on the damage. The adjuster will take pictures of the roof and home damage then make you a copy of an insurance adjusters report. At this time Contact K&H Home solutions to set up an appointment to have one of our Roofing Specialists come to your home and answer all you roofing questions. Your K&H Roofing Specialist will work with you in greater detail to determine work time frames, material and color choices for the roof, optional upgrades and any other storm damage covered by your claim.

Step 3:  Once you’ve selected materials, we will schedule an installation date. Depending on the volume of storm insurance claims the installation usually takes place in 1 to 2 weeks. You will receive the first of two checks from your insurance company (about 7 to 10 days after the inspection). If the check is payable to you and your mortgage company your roofing specialist can assist you in getting your lender’s endorsement. As soon as the endorsed check comes back to you inform your Roofing Specialist know so we can get you project started.

Step 4:  Your building permit will be posted the day we begin installation of your roof. Our installers will work carefully to remove the old roof and install the new roof and clean everything at the completion of the installation. K&H will send an in-house roofing inspector that will conduct a “walk around” inspection and make sure all left over materials are removed and the roof is now ready for the city inspection. Your local city building inspector will do the final inspection within a few days of the completed K&H roof inspection.

Step 5:    K&H Home Solutions will send the final invoice to you and the insurance company once the roof has passed inspection. Typically, the final insurance check will arrive within 7 to 10 days after receipt of the final invoice. Please call your K&H Roofing Specialist as soon as you get the insurance check. We’ll make arrangements to pick up the insurance check or you can deposit the check in your checking account and pay your balance with a credit or debit card over the phone. Your deductible will also come due at this time. K&H will not ask for any money out of pocket until your roof has passed all inspections. At this time, K&H Will mark your invoice Paid in Full.

Warranties are mailed to you within 90 days.
